In the past I’ve been disappointed with MusleTech’s pre workout supplements, however I decided to give this promising product NeuroCore a shot after reading through fitness magazines and seeing tons of advertisement about it.
MuscleTech claims they have been studying their weight loss supplement, Neurocore, for over 18 months. After numerous amounts of developing, testing, reformulating, and researching, Neurocore claims that they have been able to get the exact amount of ingredients in their formula to help you reach optimal performance for your weight loss.
Let’s look at the ingredients they used to develop this product:
- L-Citrulline: an amino acid used to help Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, fatigue, muscle weakness, sickle cell disease, erectile dysfunction, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. This ingredient is great for body building, increasing energy, and for improving athletic performance.
- Geranium Extract (Geranium Robertianum, aerial parts): helps you be more alert and increases your metabolic rate of muscle cells and fat mobilization.
- Beta-Alanine: a beta amino acid used in the building of proteins.
- Criatine HCI: indirectly helps you lose body fat and helps you gain lean muscle mass.
- Rhodiola Extract (Rhodiola rosea, root): alleviates depression and improves your mood.
- Caffeine Anhydrous: provides energy for weight loss and exercise training. It also increases mental alertness.
- Vinpocetine: helps enhance blood-flow.
- Deanol Bitartrate (supplying DMAE): increases brain levels.
- Natural and Artificial Flavors
- Sucralose: an artificial sweetener
- Elderberry Powder: helpful in treating Influenza B.
- Acesulfame-Potassium: a calorie-free artificial sweetener.
The first thing I like about Neurocore is full listing of all ingredients. No proprietary blends. I like the idea that I know exactly how much of an ingredient I am putting into my body.
Mixability: 9/10 I used one scoop to start, now I’m currently using two. I mixed the Neurocore with about 8 ounces of water each time. I Simply mixed it in a cup with a spoon, swooshed it around for about 30 seconds, then consumed it.
Taste: 8/10 Taste is not a huge requirement for my supplements as long as I can get them down. With that being said, it’s one of the better tasting pre-workout supplements, right up there with NO Xplode. It’s a very sweet tasting product, however the sweetness can probably be toned down by mixing with more water. I bought the only flavor that was available, Fruit Punch so I cannot comment on any other flavors.
Energy: 8/10 The product gave me some very good energy levels at 2 scoops. To me the energy I got was slightly less than Jack3d, but very close. It gave me a good amount of energy throughout my typical hour and a half P90x hybrid workout.
Focus: 9/10 During the whole workout I was so focused I wanted to grab a plate and tear it in half. For me this was like being in a zone, nothing could detract me. Don’t discount this factor as it’s important to focus on the task at hand during a workout if you want good results.
Pump 7/10 The pump was good, not great like with Jack3d.. Yes I know I can achieve a pump without any supplement; however, I feel this and other pre-workout supplements aid in a faster achievement of that pump.
Overall, this is the first MuscleTech product I’m really satisfied with. I’ll continue using it for a few more weeks, then I’ll cycle off all stimulants for a month. Jack3d is still my favorite pre-workout supplement, but this is probably tied for second along with BPI’s 1 M.R (one more rep).
